We are seeking a Planner based in Sandbach, Cheshire to support the UK Sustainability Manager in land use permitting which will impact the long term view of Sustainability across the UK.
This is a key role where you will use your ability to influence, negotiate and work in a team to closely collaborate with our Operations group to provide advice for strategic permitting, local permitting, environmental impact assessments, asset and land management and external communication.
Monitor, support and coordinate the environment, permitting and rehabilitation processes at a local level to ensure full compliance with legislation and minimize the environmental impact of our activities.
Implement policies, guidelines and strategies from Corporate Sustainability
Support the local Sustainability Manager with the monitoring and coordinating the land and asset management at a local level.
Actively work with the European land and asset management platform to keep all information updated
Supporting the Sustainability Manager with the proactive engagement with local communities and key stakeholders and help safeguard Sibelco's reputation
Offer coaching and guidance to local operations
Coordinate and manage local processes on external communication and representation concerning the responsibilities on sustainability.
The ideal applicant will:
Have studied and/or have the demonstrated experience in land use planning.
Have preferably gained experience in minerals or related environments
Be experienced in working with external entities such as governments, press, communities
Have a sound understanding of environmental and planning legislation, regulation, permitting
Be a Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (or working towards membership)
- Be able to demonstrate good influencing skills to different stakeholders, third parties.
