Role Overview and Key Responsibilities:
We currently have a vacancy for a Global Strategic Marketing Manager – Electronics based at our key sites at Taichung City, Taiwan or Kota Damansara, Malaysia.
As strategic advisor/challenger for the electronics business line, the Global Strategic Marketing Manager is responsible for developing an in-depth understanding of the electronics segments (raw materials) with both a macro and micro lens in terms of market, customers, competitors, technology, and geography. He/she will recommend the roadmap with options for profitable growth articulating the “where to play” and “how to win” choices through a close partnership with Business & commercial leaders and also R&D teams to deploy and execute the strategy across regions.
The Strategic Marketing Manager main focus will be on identifying and drive new growth opportunities. He/she will use marketing best practices such as value chain analysis, segmentation models and value propositions to guide/support commercial development efforts, define and implement impactful regional go-to-market plans. He/she will drive the growth opportunities pipeline (new products developments, value pricing, geo-expansion, M&A targets identification, etc.) to ensure a sustainable growth for the future. He/she will be a change agent for the region, helping all the teams realize the benefits of a strategic market approach.
There will be a direct line reporting to the VP of Global Marketing; and a strong link with multiple stakeholders (Business leaders, commercial directors, sales managers, R&D, operations teams but also Key Account customers, industry associations, etc.).
Key Attributes Required:
- Engineering degree or other technical disciplines; an MBA is a plus
- As from 8 years of experience in the electronics industry and/or experience gained as a consultant within a major strategy consultancy firm
- Experience in strategic marketing, market development and marketing strategy development
- Experience in industrial marketing and/or market development
- Strong analytical capabilities with financial insights
- Strong Project management skills
- Best practice marketing knowledge
- Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Multicultural savvy
- Fluency in English is required. Any other language is an asset
- Work location could be flexible within Sibelco key business sites
- 30-40% of global travel required
