Based at our Traralgon site, we are currently recruiting for an Operations Supervisor on a permanent full time basis.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the primary purpose of this key leadership role is to lead a team to effectively and efficiently coordinate all production activities so as to meet production, financial, safety, environmental and product quality goals, in both the short and long term.

You will successfully achieve this by;

  • Schedule and coordinate all aspects of safe lime and limestone production from raw feed scheduling through to the controlled dispatch of bulk and bagged product
  • Provide effective supervision of employees and manage the shift roster to ensure safe manning levels are maintained
  • Direct production by allocating tasks in accordance with production plan requirements and as required
  • Promote and foster excellent communications and working relationships within and between rotating shift teams, associated support teams, and relevant internal and external customers
  • Strive for the achievement of the overall production and quality targets and KPI's Plan and implement operating strategies and initiatives to improve the efficiency in the production and dispatch of products
  • Ensure clear and concise operating procedures are implemented, reviewed and maintained and that employees are trained and competent
  • Undertake appropriate performance management, review and feedback with respect to all direct reports 
  • Lead and influence continual improvement initiatives and their effective implementation in the work environment
  • Provide afterhours support for production as required

You will demonstrate the following;

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or trade certificate that is supported by proven experience in a similar role, within hot processing or manufacturing environment – essential. 
  • Lead by example in regards to safety, ensuring a culture of zero workplace injuries and employee wellness is maintained. 
  • Strong leadership skills, highlighting your ability to ensure a cohesive team approach to reaching business objectives. Formal leadership training and qualifications will be highly regarded. 
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to solve complex problems whilst developing opportunities. 
  • The ability to manage projects as and when they arise, from inception to completion. 
  • Initiate, contribute to and support continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • The desire to work as a member of a team, where building positive working relationships is key.
