Sibelco is currently seeking a Mining Plant Operator to be part of our existing mining crew at Sibelco's Riverton operation near Tenterfield NSW and at Warwick QLD. The mining crew services both mining operations and are based at each site for extended periods of time.
Reporting to mining crew Leading Hand, this permanent full time role will be primarily responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy earthmoving and processing equipment in pursuit of quality raw limestone, as well as assist with other facets of the mining and processing operation.
The successful applicants will;
- Be proactive with safety and possess the ability to help implement and follow safety procedures
- Have a current driver's licence
- Have experience operating dump trucks, front-end loaders, excavators, crushing or screening plants and hold the relevant competencies
- Be experienced operators with previous load and haul experience in a multi bench, open pit, mining operation
- Be ready be part of mining projects that are focussed on achieving the best possible safety and business outcomes while maintaining quality standards across the operation
The roles are multi-disciplined within the mining team and operations and focus on the correct extraction of ore with minimal contamination. A willingness to develop skills and take on training and instruction with a positive attitude are fundamental to the roles. There is an expectation that the operators are a flexible part of the Riverton workforce and are willing to be trained in plant and processing operations as required.
Please note this is not a FIFO or shift work position. Successful applicants are likely to live in the general region. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate and work with a variety of people at a range of organisational levels, and will have a positive attitude towards safety with an ability to demonstrate leadership in this area. You will also have a commitment to Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental requirements and legislation, and will be successful at working as part of a team.
