Sibelco Australia mines and manufactures a wide range of mineral products for local and international markets. We are currently seeking a multi-skilled Mining Plant and Process Operator to be based at our Riverton Limestone Plant located near Tenterfield, New South Wales. Reporting directly to the site Production Supervisor, this role will be primarily responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts, crushing station and other mobile and fixed processing equipment. The roles are multi-disciplined within the mining and operations team and focus on the correct extraction and processing of ore with minimal contamination.
A willingness to develop skills and take on training and instruction with a positive attitude are fundamental to the roles. There is an expectation that the operators are a flexible part of the Riverton workforce and are willing to be trained in mining, plant and processing operations as required. The position can include labour tasks such as bagging operations and manual clean-up. It is a full time permanent position working Monday to Friday with rotating shifts 6:30am to 2:30pm. Some overtime may be available.
Please note this is not a FIFO or shift work position. Successful applicants are likely to live in the general region.
While the successful applicants will ideally have the experience below, Sibelco is committed to skilling and training employees in a safe and productive manner;
- experience in an industrial setting, e.g. mineral processing, manufacturing or quarrying crushing and screening plants
- experience in relation to mobile equipment such as dump trucks, front end loaders, excavators, and hold the relevant competencies
- a working knowledge of current safety practices and demonstrated performance within these parameters
- Enjoy working in and contributing to a team environment
